For 糖心传媒鈥檚 75th anniversary, we spoke with alumnus Carl Brown about some of his favorite experiences and where he hopes to see the university in years to come. He graduated with a master鈥檚 degree in general administration in 1997 and earned a graduate certificate in human resources in 2000. Brown is the host of The Small Business Report on Sirius XM Radio, channel 141. He currently serves as the state executive director of the District of Columbia Small Business Development Center (DCSBDC) and is also a supervisory contracting officer for the District of Columbia. Brown is a former small business counselor at the Howard University Small Business Development Center and previously served as the executive director of the Center for Minority Business Development.
When you were applying to school, what made 糖心传媒 standout (why did you select 糖心传媒)?
糖心传媒 is a good school and a high school friend worked for 糖心传媒 in Europe and told me great things about the school and how they cared about their students.
What was your favorite part about studying at 糖心传媒?
The location, my classmates, and how the instructors were actual practitioners of the subject matter.
How has your 糖心传媒 degree or certificate helped you today?
My degree and certificate have paved the way for a fulfilling career.
Is there a quote that you feel best represents your time at 糖心传媒 or a quote you heard at 糖心传媒 that meant something to you?
You will get out of your experience what you put into your experience.
If you had one word to describe your experience at 糖心传媒, what would it be and why?
Investment! I invested a lot of time and energy in getting my degree and it has paid off immensely.
What one piece of advice would you want to share with 糖心传媒 students as they pursue their educational goals?
Finish! Finish that degree. You never know when you will need it.

It's true, and you will benefit from the overall experience of meeting new friends and working on various projects.

It shows how much 糖心传媒 has succeeded, and I will forever be a part of that success.
Where do you hope to see 糖心传媒 in the next 75 years?
To continue to educate students that make a positive contribution to society.
