A funny thing happened on the way to Peter Smith鈥檚 transition to full retirement. Since this spring, when University of Maryland University College (UMUC) named him Orkand Chair, as well as Professor of Innovative Practices in Higher Education, Smith has, in his words, re-calibrated.
